The regular season for most schools around the country has concluded, and while it's early, standout freshmen have made their mark in NCAA indoor track and field. Here are some of the best performances from collegiate rookies — so far — this year.
Temitope Adeshina | Texas Tech | High jump
Adeshina cleared the third-highest height in the high jump of any woman in NCAA history, clearing 1.96 meters at the Corky Classic.
Tito Alofe | Harvard | High jump
Alofe continues to rewrite the Harvard high jump record books, most recently clearing 2.22 meters at the Riverhawk Invitational. Alofe's mark is the third-highest jump in the NCAA this season.

JaMeesia Ford | South Carolina | 300m
Only Bowerman winner Abby Steiner has run faster than Ford over 300 meters in NCAA history. Ford began her season running the second-fastest 300 meters in NCAA history — 35.83 seconds — at the Clemson Opener.

Shawnti Jackson | Arkansas | 4x400
Jackson had an electrifying split on the second leg of the 4x400 meter relay, closing the gap with the pros in 50.52 seconds at the Tyson Invitational. It's the second-fastest indoor second-leg relay split by an American in the event.
Doris Lemngole | Alabama | 5000m
Lemngole ran 15:04.71 in the 5000 meters at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, the second-fastest indoor collegiate women's 5K ever. No woman had run faster than Lemngole before the 2023-24 season.

Tinoda Matsatsa | Georgetown | 1000m
Matsatsa is the only freshman who set a collegiate record during the regular season (so far), running 2:18.05 in the 1000 meters to make history. Matsatsa's performance made him the second 1000m collegiate record-setter of the season.

Hana Moll | Washington | Pole vault
Moll cleared an NCAA-leading 4.64 meters in the pole vault at the UW Invitational. Only four other women in NCAA history have ever cleared that height indoors.

Habtom Samuel | New Mexico | 3000m
Samuel ran 7:40.63 to win the 3000 meters at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational. While his time isn't a top-10 run this year, his performance makes the list because he defeated pros and past NCAA champions in the win.
